The New Roads and Street Works Act requires that anyone who executes, works for, or on behalf of, a utility company, is qualified for the activities being carried out.

A NRSWA Streetworks Operative is anyone who carries out the manual excavation and reinstatement of footpaths and highways.

The following NRSWA Training units are covered:

  • Unit O1 (Was Unit 2) – Signing, lighting and guarding

Depending which units are achieved we will then apply for their SWQR card, which will enable them to carry out New Roads and Street works activities on the highway in line with legislative requirements.
