DESCRIPTION:Course Duration\nDays: 1 – 10 (last day for testing) \nAttendees \n1 – 4\n\nCourse Objectives \nBy the end of the course the operator should be able to: \nSafely use quick hitch\nLift and deposit loads (Endorsement Test Optional)\nCarry out a pre-start inspection\nOperate safely under varying site conditions\nExcavate to various depths and formations and reinstate ground\nCarry out minor adjustments and routine service\nDemonstrate an understanding of responsibilities under relevant legislation\nOperate machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers’ manual and instructions and accepted good practice \nCourse Summary \nRefuelling procedures\nLoading vehicles\nTravelling on inclines\nRelevant regulations/legislation\nTravelling on undulating ground\nLift and move basic slung loads (Endorsement Test Optional)\nPre-start inspections/ maintenance\nForming stock piles\nIntroduction to machine\nControls and instruments\nVarious sizes of excavations\nExcavate to levels\nBack-filling and levelling\nTheory Test Preparation\nCertification\nTrained Operator Card – Valid for 2 years.\nLuddon Construction Ltd Theory and Practical Certificate for in-house courses. \nRefresher Period\nThe Trained Operator Card is not renewable (see follow-on courses below).\n360° Excavator Refresher Course after 3 years for in-house courses. \nRecommended Follow-On Courses\nVocational Qualification (VQ) in Plant Operations (SCQF Level 5) on 360° Excavator is achieved within 2 years of gaining a Trained Operator Card. A Competent Operator Card\, for this category\, can be applied for upon achievement of the relevant VQ. The Competent Operator Card is valid for 5 years and is renewable.
