DESCRIPTION:The CITB Health\, safety and environment (HS&E) test is an important way for construction workers to show they can work safely. For employers\, having workers who have passed the CITB HS&E test is assurance that their workforce can keep themselves and those around them safe. \n  \nThe CITB HS&E test forms a key part of the requirement to obtain a construction industry scheme card. \n  \nDifferent tests have been developed to meet the demands of different trades and professions. You will need to make sure that you take and prepare for the right one.  If you are taking the CITB Health\, safety and environment test to gain a card for access to construction sites please ensure you have checked the scheme requirements to apply for a card to ensure you are booking the correct level of test. \n  \n  \nTypes of HS&E tests \n  \nOperative – The Operatives test ensures workers have a minimum level of health\, safety and environmental awareness before going on site. DESCRIPTION:Course Duration\nDays: 1 – 3 (last day for testing) \nAttendees\n1 – 3\n\nCourse Summary \n\nDuties\, role and responsibilities and any limitations of those marshalling the movement of plant and vehicles in various situations\nHierarchy of control measures for plant and vehicle movement and the requirements of a work traffic management plan\nLegislative requirements and procedures relating to plant and vehicles accessing/egressing for the public highway and the effect on other road users\nTypes\, attributes\, limitations\, hazards and stability factors on different plant and vehicles relevant to the occupational area or sector\nFactors of driver visibility for different plant and vehicles\nGround conditions\, proximity hazards and weight limits and the affect these have on operations of plant and vehicles\nSafety positions for a marshaller and other personnel\nCommunication methods and how to pass information on to drivers/operators and other personnel involved\nSafe systems of work\, exclusions zones\, PPE and resources required to marshal\nMarshalling plant and vehicles to an exact location using an approved code of signals and marshalling to support the duties of the plant operator\n\nCertification\nTrained Operator Card – Valid for 2 years.\n\nRefresher Period\nThe Trained Operator Card is not renewable (see follow-on courses below). \n\nRecommended Follow-On Courses\nVocational Qualification (VQ) in Plant Operations (SCQF Level 5) in Plant and Vehicle Marshaling is achieved within 2 years of gaining a Trained Operator Card. A Competent Operator Card\, for this category\, can be applied for upon achievement of the relevant VQ. The Competent Operator Card is valid for 5 years and is renewable.
