For employers, having workers who have passed the CITB HS&amp;E test is assurance that their workforce can keep themselves and those around them safe.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The CITB HS&amp;E test forms a key part of the requirement to obtain a construction industry scheme card.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Different tests have been developed to meet the demands of different trades and professions. You will need to make sure that you take and prepare for\u00a0the right one.\u00a0 If you are taking the CITB Health, safety and environment test to gain a card for access to construction sites please ensure you have checked the scheme requirements to apply for a card to ensure you are booking the correct level of test.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Types of HS&amp;E tests<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Operative &#8211; <\/strong>The Operatives test ensures workers have a minimum level of health, safety and environmental awareness before going on site. This test covers the following five core knowledge areas: Working environment, Occupational health, Safety High risk activities and Specialist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Specialist &#8211;<\/strong> These tests include questions from the five core knowledge areas contained in the Operatives test as well as relevant questions in the chosen specialist areas. The Specialists test can be taken in the following topics<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervisory (SUP)<\/li>\n<li>Demolition (DEM)<\/li>\n<li>Plumbing or gas (PLUM)<\/li>\n<li>Highway works (HIW)<\/li>\n<li>Specialist work at height (WAH)<\/li>\n<li>Lifts and escalators (LAEE)<\/li>\n<li>Tunneling (TUNN)<\/li>\n<li>HVACR &#8211; Heating and plumbing services (HAPS)<\/li>\n<li>HVACR &#8211; Pipefitting and welding (PFW)<\/li>\n<li>HVACR &#8211; Ductwork (DUCT)<\/li>\n<li>HVACR &#8211; Refrigeration and air conditioning (RAAC)<\/li>\n<li>HVACR &#8211; Services and facilities maintenance (SAF)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Managers and Professionals &#8211; <\/strong>In June 2023 the Managers and Professionals test was updated to reflect changes to legislation, working practices and new technology.<\/p>\n<p>The test structure has been designed to enable you to demonstrate knowledge across the following key areas.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Section A: Legal and management<\/li>\n<li>Section B: Occupational health, wellbeing and welfare<\/li>\n<li>Section C: General safety<\/li>\n<li>Section D: High risk activities<\/li>\n<li>Section E: Environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Revision Material<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A range of revision materials is\u00a0available to help you revise and practice for the CITB\u00a0Health, safety and environment Test.
