{"id":133,"date":"2024-04-29T14:42:31","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T13:42:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sodwebsites.co.uk\/luddon_construction\/training\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=133"},"modified":"2026-02-06T14:34:45","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T14:34:45","slug":"new-roads-and-streetworks-operative","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/luddon.co.uk\/training\/course\/new-roads-and-streetworks-operative\/","title":{"rendered":"New Roads and Streetworks Operative"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Duration: 5 Days<\/p>\n<p>Delegates: 3 &#8211; 6<\/p>\n<p>The New Roads and Street Works Act requires that anyone who executes, works for, or on behalf of, a utility company, is qualified for the activities being carried out.<\/p>\n<p>A NRSWA Streetworks Operative is anyone who carries out the manual excavation and reinstatement of footpaths and highways.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>NRSWA Operative Units<\/h3>\n<p>The following NRSWA Training units are covered:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unit LA (Was Unit 1) &#8211; Location &amp; avoidance of underground apparatus<\/li>\n<li>Unit O1 (Was Unit 2) &#8211; Signing, lighting and guarding<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Unit O2 (Was Unit 3) &#8211; Excavation in the highway<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Unit O3 (Was Unit 4) &#8211; Reinstatement &amp; compaction of backfill materials<\/li>\n<li>Unit O4 (Was Unit 5) &#8211; Reinstatement of sub base &amp; road in non bituminous materials<\/li>\n<li>Unit O5 (Was Unit 6) &#8211; Reinstatement of cold-lay bituminous materials<\/li>\n<li>Unit O6 (Was Unit 7) &#8211; Reinstatement of hot lay bituminous materials (subject to centre)<\/li>\n<li>Unit O7 (Was Unit 8) &#8211; Reinstatement of concrete slabs (subject to centre)<\/li>\n<li>Unit O8 (Was Unit 9) &#8211; Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Certification<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On successfully achieving a pass mark on both the practical and online assessment the candidate will qualify for a SQA certificate of unit achievement.
