Investing in the Future: CPCS Ride-on Roller Training for Young Talent at Luddon Construction

Luddon Construction is proud to celebrate the successful completion of our latest CPCS Ride-on Roller training course, delivered at our in-house Training Centre in Glasgow. This recent course marks another step in our continued investment in the next generation of construction professionals.

The course was attended by three of the younger members of our workforce: Lewis, Declan, and Gabriel – each representing different parts of our business and reflecting our commitment to developing talent from within.

Lewis has been with Luddon for three years and works within our Energy Division, alongside his father and brother – a reflection of the strong family values that characterise our workforce.

“This is the second plant course I’ve done since I started with Luddon. I think it’s great to be getting new skills and qualifications that help me improve in my job.” – Lewis

Declan joined Luddon in January 2024 and works in our Building Division, where he has quickly become a valued team member through his positive attitude and willingness to learn.

“The instructors were really helpful, and the course gave me confidence to use the plant properly and safely.” – Declan

Gabriel came on board in March 2024, having completed a National Progression Award through the CECA Scotland Academy in partnership with West College Scotland. Gabriel’s pathway into the industry is a great example of how structured training and industry collaboration are creating opportunities for young people to thrive in construction careers.

“Joining Luddon after college has been a great opportunity. Getting hands-on training like this makes me feel like I’m able to contribute more on site.” – Gabriel

At Luddon, we recognise that our people are our greatest asset. By investing in our in-house training resources and supporting employees through accredited programmes such as the CPCS Ride-on Roller, we ensure our teams are equipped with the skills, confidence, and qualifications to contribute to high-quality and safe project delivery.

Our Training Centre facilities, based in Glasgow and Grangemouth, play a vital role in this approach. Fully accredited and staffed by an experienced learning and development team, we deliver a wide range of plant, health and safety, and construction-related courses to our employees and the wider construction industry. These facilities reflect our commitment to raising standards and contributing to a safer, more skilled workforce across the sector.

Congratulations to Lewis, Declan, and Gabriel on their achievements. We look forward to seeing them build on their experience as their careers progress with Luddon.
