Celebrating 50 Years of Luddon Construction: Spotlight on Margaret Hutchison – 36 Years of Loyalty and Laughter

As Luddon Construction marks its 50th year in business, we’re taking the opportunity to celebrate the people who have helped shape our journey.
Today, we shine a spotlight on Margaret Hutchison who’s been part of our story for an incredible 36 years! A familiar face who has worked across several departments and always brought energy, dedication and good humour to the team.

How did it all begin?
“I first came to Luddon as temp cover for Purchase Ledger,” Margaret recalls. That temporary role quickly turned into something more permanent. From Purchase Ledger, she moved into Payroll, then three years later into the Buying department, before eventually landing in Reception, the role she still proudly holds today.

Did you ever think you’d be here this long?
“I never imagined that I would be with the company for 36 years!” she laughs. “It’s the banter and atmosphere that keeps me here.”
That sense of camaraderie and the feeling of being part of a family is something we hear often and it’s clear that this connection has played a huge part in Margaret’s long and fulfilling journey at Luddon.

Advice for the next generation
When asked what advice she’d give to new starters or those considering a role at Luddon, her message is simple and sincere: “Don’t be afraid to ask for advice. We are all in it together.”
It’s a reflection of the culture we’re proud of. One where teamwork, support and shared success are more than just words.
