Skye House, Stobhill Hospital

Project Description

The refurbishment of 2no. external courtyards within Skye House Adolescent Unit at Stobhill Hospital.

The project aimed to create a range of spaces for relaxation, activity and reflection that will enhance the experience and wellbeing of stakeholders and service users.

Works Included

The upgrading of both courtyards included:

Removing existing benches, lighting bollards, timber fences and gates as well as stripping back existing gravel paths and grass.
Excavating existing ground for new shrub beds, artificial grass, paving, resin bound gravel and playtop surfaces.
Form sub-bases and introduce a variety of hard standing elements such as stone edgings, concrete setts, resin bound gravel, pebbles in mortar, playtop etc, all to tie in with existing and proposed levels.
Plant new shrubs, trees, specimen plants and other softwork elements in accordance with the planting plan and specification provided.
Set the foundations and place the foundations for a selection of external furniture items such as: a shade sail, play equipment, bench seating and water butt.
Introduce new lighting bollards and wall mounted lighting.
Replacing existing courtyard boundary fence with 2.1m high weldmesh fence with matching gates.
