Project Description
The refurbishment of 2no. external courtyards within Skye House Adolescent Unit at Stobhill Hospital.
The project aimed to create a range of spaces for relaxation, activity and reflection that will enhance the experience and wellbeing of stakeholders and service users.
Works Included
The upgrading of both courtyards included:
- Removing existing benches, lighting bollards, timber fences and gates as well as stripping back existing gravel paths and grass.
- Excavating existing ground for new shrub beds, artificial grass, paving, resin bound gravel and playtop surfaces.
- Form sub-bases and introduce a variety of hard standing elements such as stone edgings, concrete setts, resin bound gravel, pebbles in mortar, playtop etc, all to tie in with existing and proposed levels.
- Plant new shrubs, trees, specimen plants and other softwork elements in accordance with the planting plan and specification provided.
- Set the foundations and place the foundations for a selection of external furniture items such as: a shade sail, play equipment, bench seating and water butt.
- Introduce new lighting bollards and wall mounted lighting.
- Replacing existing courtyard boundary fence with 2.1m high weldmesh fence with matching gates.
