We’re delighted to announce that Luddon Construction has been appointed by East Dunbartonshire Council to deliver the new Bishopbriggs Civic Space, a landmark public realm project that will create a vibrant focal point at the heart of the town centre.
Delivered as part of the Council’s Place and Growth Programme, supported through the Glasgow City Region City Deal, the project will transform the land beside Kirkintilloch Road into a high-quality community space designed for people of all ages to enjoy events and relax while supporting local services.
The new civic space will feature:
• A dedicated area for community events, markets, performances and gatherings, complete with a permanent canopy for year-round use.
• Natural stone paving and bespoke seating, creating an inviting space.
• Extensive planting, new trees and sustainable drainage solutions.
• Natural play features for children to explore.
• Improved pedestrian access, supporting active travel.
Working alongside SWECO and Pick Everard, our team is proud to be helping deliver a space that will support local businesses, encourage community engagement and contribute to the continued regeneration of Bishopbriggs.
We look forward to sharing progress as construction progresses to completion in late 2026/early 2027.
