A Big Stepp in the Right Direction for Luddon!

Luddon Construction were contracted to carry out a survey of the drainage system at Stepps Primary School by our client Transform Schools (North Lanarkshire) Limited. This survey used CCTV and intrusive investigation techniques which confirmed some defects within the existing drainage system and allowed for a remedial scope of works to be developed.

On the back of the detailed survey, remedial works were required to return the system to full operation. Some of the additional scope included; temporary alterations of above slab drainage to take flows outside the building, new external drainage to Junior Wing including the installation of a packaged pump station, the removal of furniture and fittings, saw cutting through concrete floor slab at numerous locations to provide access and the careful removal of gas membrane to facilitate reinstatement and repairs to the drainage system.

During this challenging work, the site team have continually operated safely and can proudly claim to have had no accidents on site or adjacent to the site works, had no occupational ill health arising from the project, no environmental incidents and have also ensured no disruption to the local community during the project.

Alongside this excellent performance, the site team have also contributed to ongoing Site Inspections, raising Safety Observation Reports and also having Safety Observation conversations.

As such we are delighted to present the site team with the Luddon Construction Monthly Safety Award for May 2021. Well done to all involved!
