Works Progressing on The Hurlet Crematorium Project

Works are nearing the half way point on the construction of Horizon Cremation’s new super environmental crematorium facility at the Hurlet on the East Renfrewshire, Glasgow and Renfrewshire boundaries.

Luddon Construction were appointed as main contractor, with the works started on site in November 2020 and due for completion by October 2021.

This project is one of four that is currently in development by Horizon throughout the UK, with their multi-award winning Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley Crematorium being their other Scottish-site, also built by Luddon Construction and opened in the Summer of 2018.

Progress so far includes; new access road completed, building foundations and steel frame completed and handed over, drainage works and car park works continuing, timber kit construction and landscaping still underway.

Commenting on the progress of the Hurlet Crematorium project, Jeremy Hamilton, joint Managing Director of Horizon Cremation said: “It’s great to be working with Luddon once again, this time on our new super modern facility at the Hurlet – with Luddon you get the best contractor in the central belt – a highly professional, quality focused, experienced and collaborative team.”
